Starting from version 2.00 our map provides automatic
routing in Kyiv and from version 2.10 — all over Ukraine, both on PC and in your Garmin GPS if it supports this.
As with other Garmin or third-party routable maps for
Garmin GPS all you need to get the route is to provide the starting point
and the end point on PC (in MapSource program) or just the end point in
GPS. GPS will use your current position as a starting point to calculate
the route.

You can add to your routes some via points, if you wish.
This could be any of the map objects or just any point on the map.

In contrast to some other local navigation solutions, with
our map in your GPS you can cross all the country, say, by following the
route L'viv — Odesa — Sevastopol' — Yalta — Feodosiia — Zaporizhzhia — Dnipropetrovs'k — Donets'k — Kharkiv — Kyiv — Chernihiv and get
appropriate navigation instructions all the way. Navigation in cities for
which detailed coverage exists will be done via city streets. You won't
have to switch between different map products or create different routes
for each city and between them.

Depending on the settings your have in MapSource or in your GPS, the route
will be the fastest or the shortest one. The route in Kyiv is calculated taking into account the
limitations imposed by turn restrictions, one-way roads as well as such
features of the roads network as bridges, ramps and roundabouts.

| The route from
Kharkivs'kyi block to Botanic Garden area goes via
Saperno-Slobids'ka and Kikvidze streets |
The return route is
slightly different — via Naddniprians'ke Shose and the road junction
near Vydubychi subway station |
As soon as you choose the destination point in GPS or
loaded the route there from your PC and made this route active, all you
need to do is to let the GPS receive a fix from satellites. It will then
guide you to your destination providing warnings about each next turn in
advance. You will even receive voice guidance if your GPS supports this
function.
This is how the sequence of guidance screens looks like on
Garmin GPSMAP 60CS unit when navigating one of the routes above:
Automatic routes depend on some settings in MapSource
program and in your GPS device. When using our map, we recommend setting
up 'Road Selection' slider on the Routing tab on Edit > Preferences
page in MapSource in central position and use similar settings in your GPS
navigator. Additionally, you may wish to clear ‘Try To Avoid: U-turns’
checkbox. CarteBlanche Ukraine map is oriented on calculating
automatic routes for car/motorcycles and does not really consider
differences in organisation of trucks traffic.
If for some reason your real route has changed when you
are on the road — do not worry and keep driving according with the new
circumstances. Very soon after you leave the active route line, the GPS
understands this and re-calculates the route to the destination starting
from your current position.
